ParkaLot is an integrated platform that concerns the smart management of parking spaces and is designed to be a structural tool for Smart Cities. ParkaLot can function as an independent, vertically integrated solution or as part of a fully integrated urban sustainable mobility strategic framework. The proposed parking space management system facilitates the driver/guest in finding a parking space in the simplest possible way, using a mobile application. It allows the operator to effectively control the parking spaces offered and at the same time create the appropriate conditions for decongesting the central arteries that run through the urban fabric. The intelligent parking space management system consists of the equipment, an integrated information system that has a series of subsystems and telecommunication facilities.

ParkaLot has the ability to receive information from sensors implanted in the road surface or attached to it, door sensors, magnetic tapes, cameras etc.) utilizing a multitude of protocols (Bluetooth, WiFi, LoRa, LoRa WAN, ZigBee, Narrowband-IoT). After processing the information, it disseminates it to a number of supported subsystems.
