Next Monday, May 12, 2025, Startup Europe Week returns to Kozani, at the Central Amphitheatre of the New University Campus in the ZEP, for the second consecutive year.
Startup Europe Week is the largest regional entrepreneurship event and aims to support entrepreneurs. The purpose of the event is to highlight the opportunities offered to startups at local, regional, national and European levels, through information activities.
The event is an initiative that encourages innovation and entrepreneurship and is organized by European Commission structures in collaboration with local bodies. Its main objective is to develop startups and provide feedback on available resources, analyze startup development opportunities, as well as build regional innovation ecosystems.
The Startup Europe Week Kozani event “Development of a Local Ecosystem of Startups in a Just Transition Region” is organized within the framework of the implementation of the Action “Digital Innovation Hub of Western Macedonia – SYNERGiNN EDIH” with OPS Code 6001586 of the “Competitiveness 2021-2027” program, with co-organizers the University of Western Macedonia, the Region of Western Macedonia, ANKO SA/Enterprise Europe Network and the Chamber of Commerce of Kozani, while it will be held in the central amphitheater of the Administration building, on the University Campus, ZEP Kozani next Monday, May 12, 2025 at 18:00.

18:40 – Keynote Presentation: How a technological idea can evolve into a globally successful business. Speaker: Mr. Sotiris Karagiannis, Chief Innovation Officer – SPACE HELLAS S.A.
19:10 – Panel Discussion: Local innovation ecosystem and startup development. Participating are Messrs. Stavros Kalafatis, Deputy Minister of Development, responsible for Research and Innovation, Georgios Amanatidis, Regional Governor of Western Macedonia, Theodoros Theodoulidis, Rector of the University of Western Macedonia. Moderated by Mr. Antonis Pougarides, Publisher of the newspaper Ptolemais.
