How can Artificial Intelligence improve public services and the everyday life of citizens?

On 15 October 2026, SYNERGiNN EDIH took part in the 18th OTS Forum, organised by OTS SA, a partner of the Hub, with the presentation “SYNERGiNN EDIH: Artificial Intelligence for the Public Sector”.

Vaggelis Saprikis, Professor of E-Business and Dean of the School of Economic Sciences at the University of Western Macedonia, presented how the Hub supports public organisations in their digital transformation journey.

Artificial Intelligence is transforming the public sector

The presentation focused on three key areas where AI is reshaping public administration: process automation, decision-making support and citizen services. As highlighted, the question is no longer whether we will use Artificial Intelligence, but how.

Drawing on examples from the Hub’s collaboration with local authorities, the presentation showcased applications such as the digital assistant of the Municipality of Monemvasia for citizen information, as well as initiatives in cybersecurity and smart city development.

The role of SYNERGiNN EDIH

At SYNERGiNN EDIH, we help public organisations identify their needs, test technological solutions before investing in them, and develop the digital skills of their staff. Our goal is more effective public services, with real benefits for citizens.
