The University of Western Macedonia, through the Technology Transfer and Innovation Unit of its Special Account for Research Funds (ΕLKE), the Region of Western Macedonia, and the Regional Directorate of Primary and Secondary Education of Western Macedonia, along with the Innovation Center of the Regional Directorate, are co-organizing the 1st School and University Student Competition / Festival of Creativity and Artificial Intelligence (AI). This initiative serves as an open invitation to the educational and academic community of the region.
The action aims to promote creativity, innovation, and a research-oriented mindset by offering an open platform for the presentation of original ideas, applications, and research projects. At the same time, it seeks to highlight the contribution of education in addressing modern social, environmental, and technological challenges, encouraging the creative and responsible use of Artificial Intelligence and other modern technologies. The event is addressed to students of all Primary and Secondary Education schools, as well as to university students of the University of Western Macedonia.
The Competition and the Festival of Creativity comprise two distinct sections:

School and University Student Competition of Creativity and Artificial Intelligence (AI): It is addressed to students from the 5th grade of Primary School up to High School, as well as to university students. The projects will be evaluated by a special scientific committee.

School Student Festival of Creativity and Artificial Intelligence (AI): It has a non-competitive character, is open to students of all Primary and Secondary Education schools, and aims at the free exchange of ideas and the dissemination of good practices.

Projects must be submitted electronically by 28.02.2027.
The final presentations of the projects and the evaluation of the competition entries will take place in April 2027 at the main amphitheater of the University of Western Macedonia. All participants will receive an official certificate of participation and commemorative gifts in recognition of their effort and contribution to the promotion of new technological solutions. Additionally, special technology and innovation prizes, aligned with the themes and objectives of the competition, are planned for the winning teams.
The event is held with the support of the spira+ project and is co-funded by the European Union under the ESPA 2021–2027.
