On the afternoon of Wednesday 13.5.2026, the workshop “Technical Professions, Engineers & New Markets in Western Macedonia – Networking, Skills & Opportunities in the Era of Transition” was held, organized by METAVASI M.A.E. in collaboration with the TEE – Department of Western Macedonia, the Kozani Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Cluster of Bioeconomy & Environment of Western Macedonia – CLUBE.
Nikos Ploskas, Associate Professor of the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering of the University of Western Macedonia and Coordinator of the Digital Innovation Hub of Western Macedonia | SYNERGiNN EDIH, participated as a speaker at the event, with the topic:
“Digital skills in the technical world”.

During his presentation, the significant changes brought about by digital transformation in technical professions and the critical role of skills such as:

• AI literacy & prompt engineering
• BIM / GIS and digital project platforms
• Data skills, IoT and predictive maintenance
• Cybersecurity and cloud collaboration
• AI-assisted decision making in energy and infrastructure projects were highlighted,
  

while emphasis was placed on the capabilities of Artificial Intelligence in technical professions, applications in energy systems, smart grids, digital twins and project optimization, as well as the services offered by SYNERGiNN EDIH to strengthen digital skills and the digital transformation of businesses and organizations.
