The Kick-Off Meeting of the “Digital Innovation Hub of Western Macedonia – SYNERGiNN EDIH” was held on Thursday, July 11, 2024 at the Auditorium of the Mechanical Engineering Department of the University of Western Macedonia (UOWM).

In the context of the process, the Rector of PDM, Prof. Theodoros Theodoulidis, referred to the new perspective that the start of the Hub’s activity marks for our University and for the entire region of Western Macedonia.

Prof. Stergios Maropoulos, Vice-Rector for Research and Lifelong Education PDM and Scientific Manager of the Project, emphasized the need to support the operation of the Hub by local and supra-local agencies in order to multiply the benefit of its services for the domestic ecosystem.

Nikos Ploskas, Associate Professor of the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering PDM and Coordinator of SYNERGiNN, presented in detail the mode of operation and the goals of the Hub.

As part of the Kick-Off Meeting, the representatives of the partners of the scheme had the opportunity to:

  • participate in the first General Assembly through which the Board of Directors was elected. of the Consortium
  • present the object of action of their bodies and the field in which they will offer to facilitate the operation of the Hub
  • discuss issues of management and planning of the project’s actions and deliverables

According to its operational design, the SYNERGiNN EDIH hub focuses on the digital transformation of SMEs and public sector entities aiming to optimize their digital maturity.

With areas of expertise in Energy and Environment, the #SYNERGiNN EDIH focuses on the digital transformation of SMEs and public sector entities, with the aim of optimizing their digital maturity.

 

*** The Digital Innovation Hub of Western Macedonia – SYNERGiNN EDIH is part of the network of European Digital Innovation Hubs – EDIHs and is one of the seven Hubs operating today in our country.

The coordinator of the project is the University of Western Macedonia, while its corporate structure includes:
